Cosa ho nella testa

Since Mrs Ethnia and I have launched into our new translation hobby, nuances of meaning and ways in which they can be magnified are apparent to us more than they are usually. Which makes me wonder whether the reporter used the only way possible of rendering this. Somehow I expect the answer is yes, after all.

When this news was first breaking in English, a story on the Guardian website (I forget if it was by the Guardian or Associated Press) said that coglioni was a vulgar term meaning "idiot, cretin" that one wouldn't use in front of one's grandparents. Given all the brouhaha in the press, this left me wondering what it *really* meant.

Mr. Berlusconi has not a care in the world. As Grace in Ferris Bueller's Day Off" put it,
""Oh, he's very popular (Ed). The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, waistoids, dweebies, dickheads - they all adore him. They think he's a righteous dude. "

Yes, even the dickheads will vote for the Big Guy.
