A tree fell on it

For better or worse (more likely than not better), Dragan Marković Palma has just squashed the hopes of Vojislav Koštunica and Vojislav Šešelj to form a government together. You never know where help is going to come from, do you?

Seselj has proven to be a lunatic once again with his comments yesterday in the Hague Tribunal, praising Zvezdan Jovanovic for killing Prime Minister Djindjic. Honestly, I belive that Toma and Vucic seized their heads in disbelief - he is really not doing them a favor.

Yeah, I saw that last night. I was intending to write a post about it, but really what is there to say?

Oh, silly me. I thought you were sending a link to the Zvezdan episode of Šekipatra, but in fact it is the parody that I put up in the post right after this.

Not wanting to suck up too much but can I put in a request - even if Seselj is always what he is and always does what he does, some of us watching from the margins still find it informative to hear your take on the ripples he makes in the pond.

I'm not sure that it has so much of an effect, since everyone already knows what to expect from Seselj. There are just two things I can think of that might be consequences here. The first is that it reminds everyone just where SRS comes from, which puts some pressure on the people negotiating coalitions with them (reservations here are that they already know, and the coalition talks are probably already pretty much dead). The second is that it could be another sign that SRS, which already lost a part of its support to Maja Gojkovic's group in Novi Sad, may be up for a split between the people who think they could have real political success if Nikolic is able to act professionally, and the ideologues who were always in it for their enjoyment of Seselj's provocations.
