Disappointment

Went to see The Namesake. It was good until about halfway through, then it turned into The Joy Luck Club. Ah well.

Looked at one of the pictures, and I gotta say, running shoes just don't work with saris !!!

I'd say the actors were all fabulous and the filming was beautiful. The problem was with the writer, who just let the story run away without giving it a core. Sneakers and saris? I'm okay with it, but this is coming from the guy who mixed up Vietnamese cevapcici.

I am not a big fan of running shoes on anyone who isn't running to start with, and they just don't go with saris! There was a still of one of the scenes where an actress had these awful white and some dark color HUGE running shoes with a pink sari. Big feet look bad with saris anyway, the look is meant to be delicate! One should wear
sandals in a color that goes well with the sari, nice flats, really high heels are not nice with saris either, because of the real danger of tripping, but a low heel, I've seen that done and it isn't awful.

The only thing I mix with cevapcici is some nice vino, or some nice pivo!, MAYBE a soda, but usually no way! :)

Ah, okay, the shoe thing: I actually dont recommend the movie (it's not bad, but not good enough to recommend either), but the shoes are an important part of the story. I'd explain, but this would take the fun out of it for you.

Thanks for not spoiling the story, I don't think this movie is showing in our Gulag, but I'll probably want to rent it some day, you know chick flick night with the girlfriends and all that! :)
Is the music at least decent?

Real Indians don't go to the movies for the PLOT, Nonononono! One goes for the music, and the costumes! :)
